Hi!! My name is Eliska and I am so honored and blessed to serve as the President of the Sigma Chapter of Delta Zeta at Louisiana State University for 2026! Through our website, I hope we can show you just a glimpse of what this special place means to us and how we strive everyday to be a chapter rooted in sisterhood, leadership, service, and love. The Sigma Chapter is more than a home to many, it is a community that empowers women to grow, support one another, and live out the values of Delta Zeta in everything we do.

When I came to LSU, I hoped to find my place, enjoy my college years, and find friends that would last a lifetime. I can confidently say that going Delta Zeta was one of the best decisions I have ever made. The Sigma Chapter has truly given me so much from unforgettable opportunities in leadership, countless ways to serve my community and those in need, and relationships that I know will carry on past my college years. It has truly been a gift to say I am a Delta Zeta at LSU.

The Delta Zeta Sigma Chapter is founded on the values of belonging, curiosity, community, friendship, generosity, and empowerment. Throughout my time here, I have watched our chapter live out these values everyday. We are all sisters, although unique, all belonging to a community and organization much bigger than ourselves. We are curious young women who say yes to learning, to furthering our education here at LSU. We are a community, not just of active women but of involved alumni and the vast Delta Zeta international community. We show generosity, we give back to our community through our several local and global philanthropy organizations allowing us to advocate and make a difference in Hearing and Speech. We empower one another, we encourage each other into leadership roles. We praise each other on our successes, but we are there for one another when we may fall. All of these attributes are what I have found the women of Delta Zeta to be.

Although all of our values make Delta Zeta truly special, the most important and impactful value to me has been friendship. We are friends first and foremost. I am often reminded of the saying written on the plaque in front of our original home that read, “Find within the walls of this home, a sisterhood inspired by the pursuit of everlasting friendship.” I read this in line to walk into Delta Zeta as a freshmen potential new member during recruitment and will never forget it. Little did I know at the time, there is no truer statement that I have found being a Delta Zeta. The women in this place have truly been the greatest of friends, have shaped me into who I am today, and I am confident will continue to be lifelong women to lean on even when I walk across the stage at graduation. It is my hope that this website gives you a glimpse of what our chapter is all about, and that the women you come across who call themselves Delta Zetas truly make an impact on your life, just like they have done to mine.
